"Be present with the depth of your being."
Energy and transformation are essential movements in life that inspire me, as an artist, to play with possibilities every time I enter the studio.

A 40 year Retrospective, The Art of Bonnie Hartenstein
February 13-26, 2018
Sedona Arts Center Special Exhibition Gallery
Sedona, Arizona
This exhibit presents 8 bodies of work from 1978-2018 created by artist Bonnie Hartenstein: large scale paintings; video of site-specific installations; heavily textured acrylic and mixed-media constructions on unstretched canvas; painted and sculptural viewer-interactive compositions; and an intimate representational 27 piece configuration of her experiences in Tuscany.
Hartenstein's work is about a state of Change, the Wisdom of Nature and its ceaseless transformations. Her work explores the startling shifts from one form to another, and the inner harmony to its instability. She is not interested in the traditional concept of Beauty that belongs to Renaissance Art, but instead the primordial mysterious insight that can be found in chaos. She sees the artist as a shaman interacting with the viewer to embrace the sacred mysteries of Nature and rediscover the power of a deep immersion into the World of Possibilities.

Bonnie has taught Tai Chi and Qi Gong at the Sedona Racquet Club, Mii Amo Spa at Enchantment Resort and the Sedona Athletic Club since 1994. It is an expression of her awareness of how energy moves throughout the body and harmonizes the five elements that govern our energy systems.
Jin Shin Jyutsu is an ancient Japanese healing art that brings harmony to the energy systems in the body, mind and spirit. One can receive it from a practitioner's hands and can also learn how to do it themselves for daily self-help. Bonnie sees private clients and holds monthly self-help classes. She has been an experienced practitioner for over 27 years.
As a shamanic practitioner, Bonnie has led clients on Past Life Regressions; created specific ceremonies to clear energy; combined ceremony; the I Ching, Astrological and Cabalistic symbology in personal readings to help clients understand and navigate altered realities.
